Half of the nearly 3 million American prisoners are locked away for non-violent drug offenses (a great majority for pot).
1 out of 30 American men between 20 & 34 are in prison.
It’s 1 out of 9 for African American men in the same age group.
The private prison industry is massive and very powerful politically, and their business is BOOMING.
We are on the brink, folks.
Politically oriented individuals should definitely watch this, especially occupiers, tea party and 99%. It regards private security contracting of uniformed, armed police and the purchasing of traffic camera and communication device Fusion Centers for privatized spying on demonstrations.

10 years of TSA. 10 years of unchecked abuse and misconduct, and humiliation of the defenseless, and increasing callous indignity, confiscated nail-clippers, toothpaste and water, removal of shoes… then prosthetic breasts and legs, then diaper pat-downs for both infant and wheelchair-bound elderly. Naked photos of all, not being erased nor scrambled, but stored and easily transferred or stolen. The TSA has even begun operating on mandatory railway and highway “checkpoints.”

Mathematical analysis of 46,000 transnational corporations reveal hierarchical patterns of control over the economy and, by extension, geopolitics, with 147 corporations (0.3%) having total control over 40% of the entire network. Scientist suggests global anti-trust rules to limit over-connection among transnational corporations. The data is limited however, so finer details of connectivity or influence were lacking. Unfortunately, the article mistakes this lack of data for proof of non-existence and evidence against ‘conspiracy theories’ and other more deeply organized or rooted aspects of economic control, but it does very well in pointing out the fractal patterns observable in evolving societal substructures!
