Operation Midnight Climax

30 06 2009

A new dramatic online series has started about the CIA’s testing of LSD on unsuspecting civilians and on-leave military personal lured by prostitutes into CIA-run brothels in San Francisco and New York.  First episode is up and it definitely has my attention:

The year is 1953 and the CIA has just been formed. We meet Jake Kowalski (Quinton Flynn) and his Army buddy Reed Spencer (Todd Cahoon) in an undisclosed location where Jake, now a CIA spook, tells Reed about the government’s MKULTRA campaign and the covert plans to administor LSD to unsuspecting brothel patrons while they are “filmed for research purposes”, behind two-way mirrors.

Reluctantly, Reed follows orders and recruits four lovely lieutenants to help him run the government sponsored brothel: Millie (Meredith Salenger), June (Stephanie Lemelin), Ethel (Jessica Myerson) and Bea (Vernetra Gavin) all must decide if they are good patriots. Is everybody in?

The Science and Politics of Cancer, G. Edward Griffin 2005

26 06 2009

Here is G. Edward Griffin (author of the seminal book about Federal Reserve: The Creature From Jekyll Island) talking about the natural anti-cancer drug, amygdalin. It’s a deeply interesting topic (amygdalin was mentioned in the new Watchmen movie) and a very fascinating story he tells.   I highly recommend this presentation if you anyone you know suffers from cancer.

9/11 FEMA videographer at Ground Zero goes public

26 06 2009

As official videographer for the U.S. government, Kurt Sonnenfeld was detailed to Ground Zero on September 11, 2001, where he spent one month filming 29 tapes: “What I saw at certain moments and in certain places … is very disturbing!” He never handed them over to the authorities and has been persecuted ever since. Kurt Sonnenfeld lives in exile in Argentina, where he wrote “El Perseguido” (the persecuted). His recently-published book tells the story of his unending nightmare and drives another nail into the coffin of the government’s account of the 9/11 events.

Truth & Justice entering the mainstream?

26 06 2009

Two major breakthroughs for the movement for truth and justice on network TV this past month.

Both of these clips are must-see and are great for sharing because because they are directed at general audiences.

First, architect Richard Gage was on a Fox news show and they actually allowed him to use rationality, reason and intellligence without attacking him.  Absolutely amazing:

Second, the Denver PBS station aired 9/11: Press For Truth and gave copies of DVD’s to those who donated:  Blueprint For Truth, which clearly and completely illustrates how the three buildings were demolished and Fabled Enemies, which explores in depth the who, how and why behind the attacks. (They also aired Freedom to Fascism earlier this year, the great documentary that uncovers the heinous criminality of Federal Reserve.)

Press For Truth is an excellent introduction to the problems surrounding 9/11.  It’s the perfect documentary to show to family members or those who reject the ongoing public 9/11 investigation or simply can’t stomach the deeper implications.  It’s NOT about demolitions or perpetrators or conspiracies:  It’s about the incredible battle fought by a group of 9/11 widows against the painful silence and lack of any investigation by the government.  Very well made, informative and touching documentary.

[UPDATE:  because of the unparalleled success of this fund-raiser, the Denver PBS will re-air Press For Truth multiple times this summer!]

This… is CNN… {cough – cough}

18 06 2009

Segments from Anderson Cooper’s week-long reportage on the topic of marijuana, Americas High, which has been airing this week on CNN.   In it he visits one of LA’s 600 medical marijuana dispensaires (which is more than then there are Starbucks, 7-11s and McDonalds in LA).

Those THC-infused beverages looks intriguing…  Bring back bhang!

Breast cancer surviver Melissa Etheridge expounds on the medical benefits of cannabis and a bipolar woman complains that medical cannabis didn’t cure her mental disorder:

CNN’s Medical Reporter Dr. Sanjay Gupta on the issue.  He brings up good criticism against synthetic Marinol:

Science agency to review FBI’s anthrax inquiry

16 05 2009

Maybe some attention is being drawn to the anthrax murders that occured right after 9/11.   The particular anthrax strain came straight from a US Govt lab along with faked letters saying “Death to America, Death to Israel, Allah is great.”

Psiphon has power to knock down the Great Firewall of China

2 05 2009

China employs more than 30,000 people who monitor Internet connections, e-mails and chat sessions of civilians.  Popular services such as Wikipedia, Youtube, iTunes and many others are blocked.

[...]

Psiphon Inc. [...] launched a service on Friday that allows people in China and other nations with government censorship of the Internet to get around the firewalls.

The service called Psiphon is not the first to try to crash through Internet censorship in countries such as China, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt, but it is the first to require no downloads by the user.

More significantly, it’s the first to work on mobile browsers, such as those on cellphones.

NY Senator Eric Schneiderman on Rockefeller Drug Law Reform

6 04 2009

From  Drop the Rock:

Late last night, after more than five hours of heated debate, the NY State Senate voted to reform the Rockefeller Drug Laws.  The State Assembly has already passed the reform package, and Governor Paterson is expected to sign the finalized state budget shortly, which will make Rockefeller reform a reality.

Check out this video of Senator Eric Schneiderman, the sponsor of the reform legislation, defending his vote on the Senate floor.

Now, thousands of future felony drug offenders will have the right to individualized justice in the court room, and judges will be able to sentence people to treatment and other alternatives to incarceration.  The State will allocate additional funding to these programs.  In some limited cases, people who are currently incarcerated under the Rockefeller Drug Laws will be able to apply for resentencing and release.

While this is not the end of the Rockefeller Drug Laws, if we have anything to do with it, it will be the beginning of the end.  Drop the Rock will continue to organize and advocate for the full repeal of the laws.

This is a great moment for justice in New York State, and a validation of our organizing efforts.  We should all feel very proud of this accomplishment.
