Excellent, short interview with David Jay Brown who himself has been interviewing many of the most brilliant, psychedelic, and forward-thinking people on the planet for the past 20 years. He’s also the current editor of the MAPS Bulletin and continues to publish his provocative interviews.

Cannabis Cures Cancers
Very informative 2 minute video about cannabis’ ability to cure certain forms of cancer:
And for a much more in-depth look at this topic, I recommend the recent documentary, “What if Cannabis Cured Cancer?”
This film, narrated by Peter Coyote, would make a eye-opening gift to friends and family who are skeptical about cannabis’ medical and anti-carcinogenic properties.
Purchase from Amazon or download the torrent.

Some non-technical presentations I recommend are:
~Carolyn “Mountain Girl” Garcia – On The Bus
~Shulgin Tribute Banquet
~Robert Jesse – Closing Talk (on the betterment of well people)
~Andrew Weil M.D. – The Future of Psychedelic Research
…to name but a few for there are countless wonderful presentations to peruse: MAPS.org

Rise of the CBD Strains
This article takes a look at some fascinating information regarding the cannabinoid; cannabidiol (CBD). For instance, a recent study testing the short term memory of 134 students stoned on CBD-rich cannabis as opposed to cannabis with little CBD showed that their short-term memory of the CBD pot smokers was not impacted at all by being stoned but the those stoned on pot with only high levels of THC had the stereotyped effect of short-term memory loss.
The findings fit into a growing library of data demonstrating the possible health benefits of CBD, which is naturally found in marijuana. CBD appears to fend off cancerous tumors, prevent diabetes and epileptic seizures, and protect nerve cells from degradation. It doesn’t combat the effects of THC, the ingredient in marijuana that causes a “high,” and can even prevent anxiety.
[...]
ProjectCBD, a group that promotes research on the medical utility of CBD, and the San Francisco Patient and Resource Center, a medical marijuana supplier, provide the THC and CBD levels of several strains of cannabis on their websites. This information has limited applicability, however, since what passes for “Purple Diesel” in Los Angeles isn’t necessarily the same weed as “Purple Diesel” in San Francisco, let alone New York.

✌ Props for Prop 19 ✌
Perhaps it was meant to be; proposition 19′s defeat.
Perhaps those in favor of Liberty are learning invaluable lessons in what it can take to declare independence from the tyranny of the historical regime of greed, domination and fear. Perhaps the fact that it was such a close race will better help to serve in easing the inevitable shock of humanity’s current cycle of awakening and thereby potentiating a smoother entry for society into awareness, dignity and intelligence.
Indeed, it was a very significant achievement on behalf of all those who have been working so tirelessly on drug law reform over the years and decades.
And you KNOW we are going to landslide that next bill into LAW!
ALL YOUR 2012 ARE BELONG TO US. HA HA HA HA . . . .

Ganja Yoga
Yoga studios in Canada are combining marijuana and meditation. Of course, shaivas, saddhus and yogis have been doing this for thousands of years. This is likely the root of yoga itself which is quite logical when you consider how amazingly profound and healing it can to stretch and adopt meditative postures after consuming cannabis.
As the light haze of pot smoke dissipates in the downtown Toronto living room, the ganja yoga session begins.
“When you’re high, you can focus better on your breath,” says Dee Dussault, who runs a monthly session of “cannabis-enhanced yoga” at her home dubbed Follow Your Bliss.
