I found this talk given by Erik Davis at the 2010 Horizons Conference in NYC a very enjoyable and accurate delineation of the psychedelic renaissance landscape:

In the video, Erik describes James Kent’s Psychedelic Information Theory, which you can learn more about from watching his excellent presentation at the 2010 Psychedelic Science Conference in San Jose:

MAPS has just uploaded 85 of the presentations from the medical conference: Psychedelic Science In The 21st Century.
There should still be more to come too, but in this batch are many phenomenal talks. Lots immensely fascinating scientific and medical topics as well as many videos on ayahuasca topics.
Some non-technical presentations I recommend are:
~Carolyn “Mountain Girl” Garcia – On The Bus
~Shulgin Tribute Banquet
~Robert Jesse – Closing Talk (on the betterment of well people)
~Andrew Weil M.D. – The Future of Psychedelic Research
…to name but a few for there are countless wonderful presentations to peruse: MAPS.org
Help Free A Major Indigenous Leader Imprisoned in the U.S.
From http://www.freetaitajuan.org/
On Tuesday, October 19, 2010 while en route to leading traditional Ayahuasca ceremonies in Oregon, indigenous Colombian healer Juan Agreda Chindoy was detained in the Houston International Airport. He was formally arrested by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) for possession of his traditional medicine Ayahuasca. He is now being charged as a federal criminal and is facing up to 20 years in federal prison. Taita Juan is certified by his community and by the Colombian ministry of health as a traditional healer. He is one of the few remaining indigenous spiritual leaders in the world that holds the ancestral medicinal knowledge of an ecosystem that is rapidly disappearing. Taita Juan is a father, a husband and a godfather to more than 20 children. With more than 3000 supporters from several countries in the world, his life and work have touched many.
UPDATE: ALL CHARGES DROPPED!!
I recently had the opportunity to see the documentary film, Gringo Shaman. Beautifully filmed and edited, the film profiles an American who followed the calling and became a full-fledged ayahuasquero. The feel of this documentary is somewhat different from others, successfully fusing raw sincerity with artistic direction to create a very appropriate aesthetic. I definitely recommend it.
You can order the DVD as well as Shipibo-style merchandise at gringoshaman.com

I highly recommend this fascinating interview with Graham Hancock about sunken ruins, ancient civilizations and ayahuasca.

Just last night someone asked me about a certain date in time and I noticed how I visualized a curved surface in relation to my self to recall the date. I thought it strange at the time but apparently it is not uncommon, as described in this New Scientist report on the validation of temporo-spatial synesthesia, a condition in which one perceives time as a spatial geography. This has also been experienced by people under the influence of DMT and other tryptamines (sometimes described as ‘time-space’ as opposed to the generally referenced ‘space-time’). The strange intimation felt by those who perceive time in this multidimensional fashion is that not only is time non-linear and spatial but also somehow navigable by consciousness.
Anyone ever perceive the ‘contours of time’ during a psilocybic voyage, dream or other altered state?
